Sarah & Reid a Cecile Green Park House Wedding

Sarah and Reid’s wedding at Cecile Green Park House in Vancouver British Columbia was a night full of magic, whimsy, and love.

Before heading to the venue, we had completed their bridal and wedding party portraits at one of Sarah & Reid’s favourite beaches in Vancouver. With the waves softly rolling in and the mountains standing tall in the distance, the setting was as romantic as it was picturesque. It was the perfect location for a quiet moment to soak in the day before the celebrations began.

One of the reasons why I love shooting a wedding at Cecile Green Park House is the lush garden at the bottom of the stairs making it the perfect location for an intimate ceremony. This unique, graceful, heritage mansion overlooks the Strait of Georgia with 180-degree views of the mountains bordering Howe Sound. Surrounded by flowers and their closest friends, they exchanged their vows while Sarah’s sister officiated making the ceremony even more meaningful.

The post-wedding celebration was an eclectic garden party under the night sky. Dinner was held on the terrace overlooking the stunning gardens. Whimsical flower arrangements adorned the tables – a riot of baby blues, gentle pinks, and white. Twinkling lights and greenery strung above the seating mingled with the stars, drawing the garden in. Tiny, personalized details, like perfect blue bows inscribed with each guest’s name as placeholders at the tables showed every guest how dear they are to the couple.

The vibe was fun, easy and chic, right from when Reid dipped Sarah to finish their first dance with flair. The energy was contagious, glasses clinked in joyful toasts, and the dance floor was never empty. One of their friends was the MC for the night and had everyone crying with laughter.

Since my approach is a documentary and editorial style wedding photography, I loved capturing all the candid pictures throughout the day while mixing in some timeless portraits.

My favourite part was receiving this message from the bride, after sharing some pictures, “I’m still in awe of how beautifully you captured our special day (and our beautiful venue)”.
