Amy & Jon’s Intimate Wedding at Green Water Resort, Pemberton, BC

Amy and Jon’s wedding was filled with love and adventure at the stunning Green Water Resort in Pemberton, BC. With just 35 of their closest friends and family members, this intimate celebration was a perfect reflection of them, a fun, laid back celebration in one of their favourite places, with their favourite food, drinks and people.

When it came time to plan their wedding, Amy and Jon knew they wanted a location that felt special to them and their journey. Pemberton and the Sunshine Coast had both become significant to the couple, representing their new life in Canada and the beauty of their chosen home. They ultimately chose Green Water Resort in Pemberton, a serene and picturesque setting that perfectly encapsulated their vision for an intimate and non-traditional celebration.

The day started out with Jon getting ready in one of the resort’s cozy cabins while Amy got ready at a nearby Air b n b with her closest girlfriends. The weekend brought a lot of rain and we were all worried about the outdoor ceremony and reception plans but their upbeat personalities kept everyone’s spirits high knowing everything would work out. The morning was gloomy and the clouds covered the view that they ultimately came here for.

Their best friend officiated the ceremony, adding a deeply personal touch to their vows and the overall experience. As the ceremony started the clouds parted and the sun came out just in time for them to say I do. As they read aloud their vows there was not a dry eye surrounding them.

We headed off to the cliffs of Pemberton for the most stunning portraits with a breathtaking view of the mountains, exactly what they had envisioned when they were dreaming up their day. The reception was in full swing, everyone was enjoying cocktails, a charcuterie board (made by her wonderful sister) and laughing while playing Amy and Jon’s favourite games – pass the pig, cornhole and outdoor jenga. Amy and Jon knew they wanted to break the traditional “rules” when it comes to wedding planning. They wanted to enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests and there was no formal “family photo list” ; everything was candid and in the moment, a nod to their laid back personalities. Their goal was to just relax, soak in the day and make memories with the people they love.

Congrats Amy & Jon,  your day was one for the books!
